Finding real people & inspiration

The whole family went to this presentation. We met some great folks and realized that honeysuckle was a much bigger problem than we had originally thought. I came home with the knowledge that RIGHT NOW  (early spring) is the BEST time to remove honeysuckle from around the pine trees in the back of our property.

In early March, it is particularly easy to see because it will be the only thing already green here in Indiana. It is also good to get them before they produce berries.

Looking a little better.

A few hours later...

Limbs, limbs, everywhere! There was so much more than I had even imagined.

I noticed..

I started to notice these as I was sawing under the trees. If you pull on these starts, they come out fairly easily. Especially after a good rain.

There was so much to pull. I do not know if the pine trees will make it.

Great tip!

I read somewhere that if you put blue dye in your brush killer, it helps you to know where you have already been. It did work really well. I hate using any kind of chemical, but to fight the honeysuckle, it is unavoidable. The blue tint  helped me to use less and not respray areas I had already gotten.
